QWSDAI, the Queensland Working Sheepdog Association Inc., is dedicated to promoting the invaluable role of working sheepdogs, specifically Border Collies and Kelpies, within the pastoral industry. Founded to foster an appreciation for these remarkable dogs and their skills, QWSDAI organizes a variety of sheepdog trials throughout southern Queensland, including traditional formats such as 3 Sheep, Utility, Yard, and Short course trials. These events attract skilled handlers and their highly trained dogs, showcasing their ability to navigate sheep through challenging courses that test teamwork and precision.

The association emphasizes the rich history of sheepdog work in Australia, dating back to the early days of colonization, and aims to preserve this cultural heritage through engaging competitions. With an average of 200 runs per trial from January to November, QWSDAI serves as a vibrant community for both producers using working dogs for practical applications and enthusiasts who uphold the traditions of the sport.
