Recreational Aviation Australia

RAAus, formerly known as the Australian Ultralight Federation, is the leading organization in Australia for ultralight, recreational, and Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) operations. With almost 10,000 members, we train and certify pilots, flying instructors, and maintainers. We also register a fleet of over 3,200 aircraft and oversee the operations of 174 Flight Training Schools and nearly 50 Aero Clubs across the country.

As a peak body, we are responsible for developing and promoting flying safety standards and advocating on behalf of our members. Authorized by the Commonwealth Government's Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA), RAAus is one of nine Recreational Aviation Administration Organisations (RAAOs) that self-administer sport and recreational flying activities. Operating via exemptions and delegations, we offer enhanced operating privileges for our members.
