About Radio Amateurs of
Radio Amateurs of Canada (RAC) is the national association for Amateur Radio in Canada, serving as a not-for-profit membership association with its headquarters in Ottawa, Ontario. Dedicated to representing the interests of Amateur Radio enthusiasts across the country, RAC acts as the liaison with government agencies, advocating for regulatory and spectrum issues that affect the Amateur Radio community. As the Canadian member of the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU), RAC ensures that Canadian Amateurs have a voice on both national and international levels.
RAC offers a range of programs and services aimed at enhancing the enjoyment of Amateur Radio, including Amateur Radio courses, updated contest systems, operating awards, and an expanded Field Organization. The organization also publishes The Canadian Amateur magazine, a premier national publication that is available to members in both print and digital formats. By joining RAC, members not only contribute to the protection of spectrum, but they also gain access to a wealth of resources and benefits, both intangible and tangible.
