Race Cauterets

Race Cauterets is the mountain-running programme organised by the Club Athlétique du Vignemale, based in Cauterets, France. Drawing on the village’s setting and the club’s experience in mountain sports, the organisation offers a varied calendar of running challenges for participants seeking different levels of distance and difficulty. Its 2026 events include the Trail Blanc du Pont d’Espagne, a winter race on snow, and the Trail des Balcons de Cauterets, with routes of 11, 20, 47 and 80 kilometres.

The programme also reflects a longer history of local competitions, including the Grand Vignemale Trophy, the Course des Refuges and the Course du Pic du Cabaliros. These events range from demanding, technical mountain courses to faster and more intense races. The club’s volunteers help organise the competitions and bring experience gained through many years of events.

The website provides race information, regulations, registration details, results, photos, videos and updates for runners, supporters and prospective volunteers
