About Radical Communicators Network
RadComms, also known as the Radical Communicators Network, is a dynamic brand that serves as an infrastructure connecting political opportunities to collective action for social justice communicators. Founded by Shanelle Mattews, a renowned comms strategist, RadComms emerged as a safe space for like-minded individuals to explore dilemmas and forge connections in the aftermath of the 2016 presidential election. Today, RadComms is a thriving community of practice, empowering activists, organizers, and change-makers to amplify narrative power for social justice causes.
With a global cohort of over 5,000 members spanning movements and backgrounds, RadComms fosters cross-pollination of ideas, strategies, and experiences to tackle prevailing conditions of white supremacy, corporate greed, climate destruction, and interpersonal violence. The network prioritizes voices and expertise from marginalized communities, ensuring their inclusion in conversations often excluded from traditional nonprofit spaces. RadComms cultivates revolutionary narrative strategies that challenge the status quo.
From reframing movements like #MeToo to combating far-right ideologies and promoting inclusive storytelling, RadComms empowers grassroots communicators to build a more equitable society where everyone can live with dignity. By centering marginalized experiences, deconstructing harmful narratives, and propagating liberatory ones, RadComms creates narrative power that reshapes societal norms and rules. Through critical inquiry and collaboration, RadComms transforms academic, nonprofit, and political jargon into meaningful messaging campaigns that resonate with everyday people.
