RadPsyNet, the Radical Psychology Network, is a community of psychologists and others working to challenge inequity in society and psychology and advance social justice and human needs. Founded in 1993 following a discussion at an American Psychological Association convention, it grew to more than 500 members across over three dozen countries, including academics, practitioners, students, therapists, and consumers-survivors. The network does not require a single definition of radical or critical psychology; participants share an interest in fundamental social change and in questioning psychology’s traditional emphasis on limited reform.
RadPsyNet is open to new participants and no longer has a formal membership process. Its primary ongoing activity is a moderated email discussion list, where members exchange research ideas, discuss academic and student issues, coordinate political action, and plan conferences. The network also offers a contact directory, member websites, archives, articles, teaching materials, and resources for applying critical psychology. Its online journal, Radical Psychology, published for ten years and ended with a final issue in 2011; earlier issues remain available online.
