Raikoken Karate

Raikoken Karate Dojo is a karate school in Renton, Washington, led by Charlie Nguyen Sensei, a multi-international champion. The dojo teaches karate rooted in Japanese and Okinawan traditions, with instruction shaped by Nguyen’s study of original kata styles and training with the Vietnam National Team. Its program centers on three pillars: kata, kumite, and community.

Students learn traditional kata, or forms, to develop an understanding of movement and the techniques they contain. Kumite classes use World Karate Federation guidelines to build athleticism, speed, strategy, and controlled sparring skills. The dojo serves children and adults, with some beginners starting as young as four and no stated upper age limit.

It emphasizes safety, discipline, good morals, ethics, and mutual respect. Prospective students can visit a class and try one session before joining. Membership is offered on a monthly basis without long-term payment contracts, with payments available in person by card or online through PayPal.

The dojo also welcomes questions and inquiries about classes, schedules, and enrollment
