About Railway Children
Railway Children is a brand that aims to improve the situations and futures of children who are separated or at risk of separation from their families. The brand is part of the National Alliance to Strengthen Families and Alternative Family Based Care, which consists of Railway Children Africa, UNICEF, Save the Children, Pamoja Leo, as well as individuals working with the University of Dar es Salaam and the Open University. Railway Children focuses on three main areas: India, East Africa, and the UK.
In India, over 11 million children live on the streets, and Railway Children works to support them. In East Africa, there are an estimated 5 million orphans in Tanzania and Kenya, and Railway Children is dedicated to improving their lives. Additionally, Railway Children supports vulnerable young people on the UK's rail network.
The brand's approach is based on extensive research, and they actively involve and work with the children they aim to help. They offer various ways for individuals and companies to get involved, including donations, participating in events, corporate partnerships, gifts in wills or memory, and volunteering. Railway Children is committed to making a difference in the lives of these children and relies on the support and generosity of their network and donors
