The Rainer-Rudolph-Stiftung is a foundation dedicated to supporting emerging scientists in protein biochemistry and related fields. It continues the work and educational values of Rainer Rudolph, a protein chemist whose career bridged academic research and industrial applications. He worked in academia and applied research, including at Boehringer Mannheim, now Roche Diagnostics, before returning to academic research at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, where he led the Chair of Technical Biochemistry.
The foundation promotes his belief that basic research can have industrial or pharmaceutical applications and that students should be encouraged to explore individual career paths, including beyond conventional boundaries. Its activities include supporting and recognizing young researchers who have achieved outstanding results in protein biochemistry or related areas.
