Raise Hope

Raise Hope ODV is an Italian nonprofit association supporting children and communities in Karamoja, a region in northeastern Uganda affected by drought, hunger, poverty, conflict, and limited access to healthcare and education. Drawing on more than 15 years of volunteer experience in the region, the association works with local communities and organizations to build opportunities for children and young people.

Its education projects provide school support and scholarships, helping students continue their studies despite costs and challenges in public schools. Through its nutrition project, Raise Hope supplies meals and additional nutritious foods, including fruit, vegetables, rice, fish, and meat, to students at Child Jesus Nursery and Primary School in Moroto and to particularly vulnerable children. Its health work helps children access medical care, examinations, and specialist services, including referrals outside Karamoja when needed. The association also provides practical aids such as incontinence supplies, wheelchairs, and walking frames, and has supplied reusable sanitary pads to girls receiving school support.
