Die Rechtsanwaltskammer München ist die Selbstverwaltungsorganisation für derzeit über 24.000 im Oberlandesgerichtsbezirk München zugelassene Rechtsanwältinnen und Rechtsanwälte. Ihre gesetzlichen Aufgaben ergeben sich aus den Regelungen der Bundesrechtsanwaltsordnung und sind unter anderem die Zulassung der und die Aufsicht über die Mitglieder. Daneben berät die RAK München ihre Mitglieder in berufsrechtlichen Angelegenheiten, erstellt Gutachten für Gerichte, Verwaltungsbehörden und die Landesjustizverwaltung zu Gesetzesvorhaben und bietet Seminare zur Aus- und Fortbildung an. Das Präsidium der Rechtsanwaltskammer München besteht aus sechs Mitgliedern. Es übernimmt die Vertretung und den Geschäftsbetrieb der Kammer. Der Vorstand setzt sich aus 36 Rechtsanwältinnen und Rechtsanwälten zusammen.
