Rakia Mission

Rakia is an Israeli space initiative dedicated to making space accessible to everyone and connecting the country with the future of human spaceflight. It works to build a sustainable ecosystem linking industry, academia, science, and the arts, while encouraging national and international collaboration. Through its programs, Rakia creates opportunities for individuals, companies, institutions, and organizations to participate in space research and develop their activities.

A central milestone was the 2022 Ax-1 mission, the first private mission to the International Space Station and the first Israeli mission to the station. Led by Israeli astronaut Eytan Stibbe, it enabled public participation through scientific experiments, technology demonstrations, Hebrew-language educational activities, and Israeli artworks. Rakia continues this work through initiatives for industry and academia, student communities, experiment submissions, educational content, exhibitions, events, and cultural projects. Its offerings also include video content, opportunities to join space-related communities, and activities connected to Israeli Space Week. By bringing together practical research and public engagement, Rakia promotes innovation and broad participation in space.
