Dr. Mariela Vasileva’s website is an information resource about breast cancer, created for patients, medical students, trainees, and healthcare professionals. Dr. Vasileva is a breast surgeon whose clinical work includes preventive breast examinations and ultrasound assessments, ultrasound-guided core needle biopsies of suspicious breast or underarm lymph-node findings, and tumour marking. For patients diagnosed with breast cancer, she offers surgical options, with a preference for breast-conserving procedures and less extensive lymph-node surgery when medically and oncologically appropriate.

The site also provides guidance on the path to diagnosis, breast cancer prevention and screening, treatment, and multidisciplinary care. It covers breast symptoms and quality-of-life concerns during perimenopause and menopause, including pain, hot flashes, cysts, and benign lumps. Medical professionals can find articles, recommended guidelines, research resources, and information about conferences, courses, and educational events.

Dr. Vasileva works at Dr. Shterev Medical Complex and provides appointment information through the hospital and Superdoc. She also co-founded the Bulgarian Society for the Fight Against Breast Cancer and Other Gynaecological Tumours and participates in European surgical oncology education initiatives.
