Rakshazar

Rakshazar is a volunteer fan project devoted to developing the fantasy continent of Rakshazar, also known as the Riesland, in the world of The Dark Eye (Das Schwarze Auge). Located east of Aventuria beyond the Iron Sword mountain range, it offers a distinct setting shaped by sword-and-sorcery fantasy and original worldbuilding. Launched in 2007, the project brings together writers, artists and other contributors to create background material and role-playing resources. Its publications are available as free downloads under the fan guidelines of license holder Ulisses Spiele, and many have also appeared in the fan magazine Memoria Myrana.

Resources include the illustrated Book of Heroes, which introduces Rakshazar’s species, cultures, professions and rules, and the expanded Book of Blades, covering weapons, armor, mounts, combat options and war machines. An introductory guide and adventure help groups explore the setting, with Kurotan presented as a starting region. Materials support The Dark Eye 4.1, with some conversions for DSA5. The project welcomes new creative collaborators and promotes an inclusive approach to characters and stories.
