Ramos Family Foundation

The Mel and Leta Ramos Family Foundation is a nonprofit family foundation dedicated to expanding access to visual arts education for young people. Founded by family members of the late Mel and Leta Ramos, it continues their lifelong commitment to visual arts and artists through art-making, teaching, and learning opportunities. The foundation supports students, educators, and future arts leaders through grants, scholarships, art supplies, and teaching experiences.

Its programs have funded supplies for undergraduate students, graduate students’ study-abroad programs, teaching artist opportunities, and juried student awards. The foundation has also partnered with the Crocker Art Museum to create the Mel and Leta Ramos Family Virtual Education Center, a resource for educators seeking to bring art into classrooms, homes, and communities. Through these initiatives, the foundation works to make visual arts education available in its many forms and to strengthen opportunities for emerging artists and arts educators.
