Ramshackle Theatre

Ramshackle Theatre is a Yukon-based performing arts company creating original plays, cardboard puppet shows, and outdoor theatre events for audiences in the Yukon and across Canada. Working from a small studio in the boreal forest, the company embraces cardboard and shoestring production budgets, using creative constraints to fuel imaginative, resourceful theatre. Its productions have toured nationally, appearing at festivals and venues including Vancouver’s rEvolver Festival, Victoria’s Intrepid Theatre, the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, SummerWorks in Toronto, and the National Arts Centre in Ottawa.

The company’s work spans science fiction, clowning, storytelling, and community-led performance. Current productions include Atlantis, a dystopian cardboard clown show in which audiences help build an underground cardboard city, and Break A Leg, an interactive story about injury, resilience, and helping one another. Ramshackle also presents Theatre in the Bush, an immersive, multidisciplinary outdoor event featuring Yukon artists and community-created performances and installations. Since 2006, the company has collaborated with local artists and toured its original productions nationally, with plans to tour Atlantis in 2027–28 and beyond.
