RanasMOSLER provides a science-based approach to understanding and changing population behaviors, with a focus on supporting good health and a sustainable environment. Its RANAS method examines five psychosocial factors—Risks, Attitudes, Norms, Abilities, and Self-regulation—to help organizations identify what influences behavior, choose suitable behavior-change techniques, improve interventions, and assess whether they achieve lasting results. The approach is intended for practitioners who want a systematic, practical way to develop and evaluate behavior-change projects.

RanasMOSLER offers training through RANAS courses, including instruction in reviewing behavior-change communications, systematically developing projects, identifying behavior-change techniques, and improving interventions. It also provides guidance and learning resources, including a webinar, a Practical Guide, and a shorter user guideline available through Helvetas in English and French. The method can be applied across areas such as safe drinking water, use of WASH infrastructure, sanitation, handwashing, hygiene in schools, menstrual hygiene, mental health, solid waste management, and other behaviors.
