Ransa AS is a Norwegian technology and engineering company with more than 29 years of experience developing microcontroller-based systems. Its work began in 1996 with cabin ventilation controls, commissioned by Novenco, and the first systems were delivered to Grand Princess in the same year. Ransa has supplied ventilation control systems for six cruise ships: Grand Princess, Sea Princess, Ocean Princess, Aurora, Vollendam and Zandam. The company continues to repair these systems and provide spare parts.
Ransa’s technical services include printed circuit board design, microcontroller software development and production coordination. Finished products are manufactured by subcontractors, then assembled and quality-checked by Ransa. The company has also developed microcontroller controls for medical equipment.
Alongside its engineering work, Ransa provides sound, lighting and video services for smaller events and has offered training in sound reinforcement and audio fundamentals. Its current development project focuses on smart-home technology and energy savings, drawing on experience gained from its cruise-ship systems. Prototypes have been made, and software development is underway.
