The ECOWAS Development Partners Coordination Cell is a brand that was established in December 2016 by the ECOWAS Commission. This brand focuses on supporting the Regional Authorising Officer (RAO) by providing various services. The main objective of the Cell is to facilitate project programming and preparation, coordinate activities with different stakeholders, and provide information, communication, and training.

The Cell plays a crucial role in supporting the RAO in identification, formulation, programming, and coordination of the implementation of EU funded programs. It also handles monitoring, evaluation, and audits of these programs. Furthermore, the Cell coordinates with various departments involved in the implementation, engages in dialogue with relevant entities, and supports the preparation of meetings related to the governance of EU funded programs.

In addition to the above, the Cell focuses on capacity building through training and development of information systems for monitoring and evaluation. The ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) plays a role in resource mobilization for both the Commission and member states.
