RC Summer Nights

Rapid City Summer Nights is a free, all-ages weekly concert series bringing live music and summer activity to downtown Rapid City, South Dakota. Established by the 2007 Leadership Rapid City class, the event has entertained the community since 2008. Concerts take place on Thursday evenings from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. during the summer, featuring a rotating lineup of bands across genres including rock, country, pop, and more. The 2026 season is scheduled to run from May 28 through August 20.

Alongside live performances, attendees can enjoy food from local vendors and purchase beverages, including soft drinks, water, and adult beverages. The series also highlights local businesses and community volunteers, with sponsors helping fund the event. Volunteer organizations support event operations, and proceeds from the event are returned to those organizations or used for equipment and future planning. Summer Nights offers volunteer and vendor application opportunities, as well as schedules, band information, photos, and videos for visitors to explore.
