About RAREC
The Rainforest Awareness Rescue and Education Center (RAREC) is a wildlife rescue located near Iquitos, Peru. Our primary objective is to rescue and rehabilitate threatened Amazonian wildlife species. Additionally, we are committed to providing community education and furthering scientific knowledge to help protect the Amazon Rainforest.
The exceptional work we do has garnered recognition and support from esteemed conservation institutions worldwide, such as the Nashville Zoo, Georgia Aquarium, and SeaWorld and Busch Gardens Conservation Fund. Our rescue programs have been acknowledged in Peruvian newspapers and network television, while our conservation efforts have earned praise from the Peruvian Government. Since our establishment in 2011, we have proudly operated as a fully licensed and non-profit rescue center.
Our programs are sustained through the generous financial contributions of our conservation partners and passionate individuals dedicated to preserving the Amazonia region.
