About CORD
CORD is Canada's national network for organizations representing individuals with rare disorders. Their mission is to provide a strong common voice to advocate for health policy and a healthcare system that works for those with rare disorders. CORD offers various resources, events, and news updates to keep the rare disorder community informed and connected.
They recently submitted a proposal to the federal government calling for the inclusion of patients, clinicians, and other stakeholders in the implementation of the national rare disease drug strategy. CORD is hosting a webinar on June 21 to review Canada's rare disease ecosystem and the Rare Disease Framework, emphasizing the importance of funding innovative therapies for rare disease patients. They are also holding their Annual General Meeting on September 14, where eligible voters can participate either in person or via videoconference.
CORD welcomes individuals, patient-based organizations, support groups, and corporate associations to join and be part of their active Canadian rare disorder community. Please note that CORD does not offer clinical services or make diagnoses
