About Raritan Fire
Raritan Fire Department is a dedicated and fully volunteer fire company that has been safeguarding the Borough of Raritan since 1847. As Somerset County Fire Station 52, they cover an impressive 2 square miles, including residential, governmental, commercial, industrial, community, and pharmaceutical properties. Their responsibilities extend to overseeing three highways, a traffic circle, a railroad and its maintenance terminal, as well as the river and canal.
The committed volunteers at Station 52 fulfill a wide range of duties, ranging from fire suppression to vehicle extrication and public safety functions. With an impressive fleet of three pumpers, an aerial truck, a utility truck, and two command vehicles, they are ready to respond promptly and effectively. Raritan Fire Department operates from two fire stations, namely the historic Anderson Street firehouse and their headquarters located on North Thompson Street.
