Rate Ranger is a free hotel price-tracking service that helps travelers look for savings after they have already booked a stay. Users submit their hotel name, city, check-in and check-out dates, booking price, room details, and booking site through a simple form. No account, app, payment card, or subscription is required.
The service regularly checks rates for the same hotel and dates, increasing how often it checks as the arrival date approaches. If it finds a lower price, Rate Ranger emails the customer with the updated rate and a link to rebook. Travelers can then make a new reservation at the lower price and cancel their original booking, subject to the original reservation’s terms.
Rate Ranger accepts bookings made through major travel sites, directly with a hotel, or elsewhere. Its service is free, with no limit on the number of bookings users can track. When a customer books through a qualifying referral link, Rate Ranger may receive a commission from the booking site, while the customer pays no extra fee.
