About Rather Fond
Rather Fond is a small studio that turns personal stories, habits and inside jokes into distinctive gifts for people you know well. Its first available product, Birthday Trial, transforms details shared by a customer and their friends into a playful, personalized courtroom game for a birthday gathering. For $29, customers provide stories in about five to seven minutes and receive the finished experience within 24 hours.
Each Birthday Trial includes an approximately 20-page case PDF with tailored charges, evidence, witness testimony and a final verdict, along with a personalized invitation for guests and a concise host guide. The format is designed to help a group celebrate and gently roast someone using the real-life stories and quirks their friends already know.
Rather Fond presents Birthday Trial as an alternative to generic cards, trivia and party games. The studio is also developing Your Life as a Movie, a future gift concept that turns someone’s life, cast and plot decisions into a personalized movie idea.
