Rathoe Community Childcare

Rathoe Community Childcare is an inclusive early childhood and school-age care provider based in Rathoe, across from Scoil Phadraig National School. Established in 2006 as an afterschool service in Rathoe Parish Hall, it has grown to offer preschool, afterschool care and holiday camps for local children. Its approach centres on learning through play, wellbeing, nature and friendship, with a natural play-based curriculum informed by outdoor learning principles and Ireland’s Aistear Early Childhood Curriculum Framework.

Preschool is offered in two rooms: the Rainbow Room for children aged approximately 2 years 8 months to 3 years 6 months, and the Butterfly Room for children aged 4 to 5. The service provides ECCE, NCS and private options where applicable, alongside preschool wraparound care. A breakfast club opens from 7:45 a.m., and afterschool care runs until 5:45 p.m. for children from Junior Infants to Sixth Class. Seasonal full-day camps are also available during Halloween, midterm, Easter and summer breaks.
