Ratsastus-Akatemia

Ratsastus-Akatemia, also identified as Ratsastustaidon akatemia, is a Finnish educational organization focused on how horses and people learn. Its central message is that horse training always involves associative learning, whether or not a trainer recognizes the processes at work. The organization aims to improve understanding of learning principles and show how this knowledge can make training more effective while supporting the wellbeing of both horses and handlers. By reducing frustration and hazardous situations and encouraging successful learning, its approach promotes safer, more rewarding interactions.

Ratsastus-Akatemia offers educational content on equine learning psychology and operant training. Its website features articles, reflections, introductory material for newcomers, and a self-assessment quiz about operant training skills. It has also publicized online courses and advanced study in equine learning psychology, including programs delivered in collaboration with Suomen Eläinkoulutuskeskus Oy. The organization shares information about relevant courses, lectures, and learning resources through its Facebook page. Its materials are intended for people interested in understanding training through learning principles and applying that knowledge in practice.
