Rau for Art

Rau for Art Foundation is a Greater New Orleans organization dedicated to supporting arts appreciation and education by creating meaningful opportunities for young artists and their teachers. Its programs serve eligible students and high school art educators in Orleans, Jefferson, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Tammany and St. Charles Parishes. The foundation focuses on practical support, recognition and access to resources that can help strengthen art education and encourage students’ creative development.

Through its Art Scholarship Competition, the foundation offers high school artists the chance to compete for college scholarships, exhibition opportunities and the opportunity to study art in Italy. Its Teacher Assistance Fund helps classroom art educators obtain supplies for ambitious projects and essential material needs, with awards of up to $1,000 per school. The foundation reports providing $20,000 in annual student scholarships and supporting six participating parishes. It also works with schools, educators, families and community partners to make art education more attainable and visible.
