Raven Aero Service is a family-operated aircraft maintenance and restoration business founded in 1992. Based at Freeman Field in Junction City, Kansas, the company is owned and run by Marvin Hornbostel alongside his sons, Jon and Kurt. Raven focuses on antique and classic aircraft, particularly vintage and classic single-engine planes, and specializes in fabric covering.
Its services include light aircraft maintenance, restoration, and fabric-covering work, helping preserve older aircraft and return them to flight. The company’s experience spans generations, reflected in its stated commitment to keeping historic airplanes flying. Owner Marvin Hornbostel received the 2012 Aviation Maintenance Technician of the Year award and the FAA’s 2012 Charles Taylor Master Mechanic award.
Raven Aero Service shares its restoration work through a gallery and provides information about its services and company history online. Prospective customers can contact the team by phone or email to discuss aircraft projects and services
