RAVNS HIRD

Ravns Hird is a Viking combat group based in Jelling, Denmark, bringing together people interested in historical martial arts, Viking culture, and community. Celebrating five years, the group combines regular training with participation in historical combat gatherings and events. Its practice focuses on technique, strength, discipline, and the shared passion for Viking fighting. Training takes place twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays, and welcomes adults aged 18 and over; no previous experience is required. Newcomers can attend a trial session and are asked to bring work gloves and water.

Beyond training, Ravns Hird takes part in events such as Trelleborg, Sletten, Bork, Nidhugs Wargames, and Die Grosse Slacht. The group also hosts its own event, Ravnens Marked, and shares information about its activities, history, visual identity, and community through its website. Its refreshed logo and shield design draw inspiration from Jelling and the history, identity, and style associated with the area, while the group’s fellowship and commitment to Viking combat remain at its heart.
