RAVON is an independent Dutch knowledge and nature conservation organisation with more than 35 years of experience studying and protecting reptiles, amphibians and fish. Working alongside volunteers, it monitors native species and their habitats across the Netherlands, collects and analyses data, and uses the findings to support biodiversity conservation and recovery. Its research combines fieldwork, long-term monitoring, data analysis and innovative methods to track species and population trends, identify threats, and determine what is needed to improve habitats.
RAVON translates this expertise into practical, independent advice and measures for nature management, policy and restoration, and shares knowledge through reports, publications, courses and events. The organisation also provides education and a helpdesk for questions about reptiles, amphibians and fish. Through the RAVON Academy, volunteers, professionals and organisations can take online courses or tailored in-company training.
