About Raymond Rutting
Raymond Rutting is a distinguished Dutch photojournalist, recognized for his compelling storytelling through photography. With a career spanning several decades, he has covered pivotal historical events, including the fall of Romanian communism and conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq. Rutting is a regular contributor to the Dutch newspaper de Volkskrant and has created travel reports for National Geographic's travel magazine, Traveler, showcasing international destinations.
Since becoming a freelance photographer in 2013, he has achieved remarkable accolades, including being named Photographer of the Year in 1997 and 2004 and winning multiple awards at the prestigious Zilveren Camera competition. His contributions to the arts were honored when he was appointed an Officer of the Order of Oranje Nassau.
Beyond photography, Rutting offers masterclasses, workshops, and talks, sharing his extensive knowledge and experiences with aspiring photographers. His dedication also led to the founding of the Art of News Foundation, supporting various projects, particularly in Africa.
