Raysilience is an Italian innovative startup based in Rome, developing MONDRIAN, a Visual Positioning System designed to help autonomous aerial platforms navigate when satellite navigation is unavailable or disrupted. Its technology combines live camera imagery, inertial data and preloaded Earth-Observation maps to calculate an absolute position without relying on a satellite signal. The system processes data onboard using neural networks, and delivers a standard navigation output that can be fed into an aircraft’s navigation loop.

MONDRIAN is offered either as software for existing avionics or as a dedicated camera-and-compute kit. Its intended applications include defence and security operations in contested airspace, surveillance and emergency response such as search and rescue, and autonomous logistics in GNSS-degraded environments. The company describes the system as fully onboard, GPU-native and designed for integration with leading UAV units. Its reference maps use European Earth-Observation data, including ESA’s Sentinel-2, while the system is compatible with imagery from public and private providers.
