RCMSAR (Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue) is a not-for-profit volunteer-based organization dedicated to saving lives on the water. With over 30 marine rescue stations along the coast of British Columbia, from Vancouver's bustling harbor to the remote waters of the North Coast, RCMSAR operates in one of the most challenging search and rescue regions in the world. Comprised of 900 dedicated volunteers who are available 24/7, 365 days a year, RCMSAR is always ready to respond to marine emergencies at a moment's notice.

Equipped with specialized rescue vessels designed for the West Coast's unique challenges, their highly trained crews collaborate with communities, federal and provincial governments, Indigenous groups, industry partners, and other agencies to provide marine search and rescue services. In addition to their emergency response efforts, RCMSAR also focuses on SAR prevention. Their volunteers offer boating safety information, pleasure craft safety checks, and a lifejacket loaner program for kids.

Each year, RCMSAR conducts approximately one-third of all marine rescues, saving hundreds of lives and protecting thousands of dollars' worth of property.
