RCS Bath

The Royal Commonwealth Society Bath and District Branch is an educational charity serving Bath and the surrounding area. It promotes knowledge, understanding and collaboration among people connected to the Commonwealth, a voluntary association of 56 countries. Led by trustees and supported by local friends and partners, the branch brings together residents, British and international students, and Commonwealth Scholars through social activities and collaborative projects.

Its work focuses on supporting students in education and research, raising awareness of the Commonwealth, and backing Commonwealth projects. The branch also sponsors initiatives that encourage young people’s aspirations and foster inclusivity, diversity, women’s empowerment and understanding across cultures. Its programme includes talks, visits, commemorations and other community events, such as gatherings linked to the University of Bath and the Commonwealth Games, as well as services of remembrance.

The branch shares news and newsletters, offers grants, and provides opportunities for members and non-members to participate. Through these educational and social activities, it aims to strengthen relationships and celebrate the ideas, experiences and cultural richness of Commonwealth communities
