The Magpie Centre, West Norfolk Riding for the Disabled, is a registered charity providing therapy, achievement and enjoyment for people with disabilities. Based at Wallington Hall, the centre has supported riders for more than 30 years, with an indoor riding school that enables lessons throughout the year and scenic estate tracks for outdoor activities. Its experienced Centre Manager, certified instructors and more than 70 volunteers create a welcoming, supportive environment for participants and their families.
The centre offers riding lessons and carriage driving, as well as Equine Assisted Learning and Therapy. Its activities also include Tea with a Pony, alternative provision, Pony Club and a linked-centre programme. Participants’ experiences can include developing riding skills, confidence, balance and strength while enjoying time with horses.
The Magpie Centre relies on donations from the public and local businesses to help meet its approximately £200,000 annual running costs. People can support its work by donating, volunteering, attending events or keeping up with its news.
