RDA NSW

Riding for the Disabled Association (NSW), or RDA (NSW), is a registered Australian charity that provides equine-assisted activities for people with disabilities. Its programs use horse-related experiences to help participants develop and enhance their abilities, with activities designed to suit a range of needs. Offerings include horse riding, dressage, mounted games, carriage driving, and Equine Facilitated Mental Health and Learning.

RDA (NSW) is supported by a network of local centres, volunteers, coaches, and horses. The organisation highlights the contribution of its volunteers and selects horses for their temperaments. It reports supporting 1,075 registered riders through 33 centres, with 900 volunteers and 247 RDA horses. People can participate, volunteer, or pursue training to become a fully accredited RDA coach. The association is aligned with Sport Integrity Australia and the National Integrity Framework. Its activities may qualify for NDIS support, depending on an individual’s plan. RDA (NSW) also shares news and events, including dressage and mounted games championships, and accepts donations to help keep its centres running.
