Real is a unique organization that has been dedicated to supporting disabled individuals in Tower Hamlets for over two decades. Run by disabled people, for disabled people, Real believes in promoting equality and challenging discrimination. They strive to ensure that disabled individuals have the same opportunities and choices as non-disabled individuals.
Real provides support to anyone who is or has been disabled, or who has a long-term health condition. Their approach is based on the social model of disability, which means they support people with any type of impairment or disability, regardless of their age, gender, ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation. Real also collaborates with friends, families, carers, professionals, and allies who share their goals.
While most of their funding comes from Tower Hamlets Council and the local NHS, they also receive assistance from other organizations, businesses, and donors. Real is truly committed to making a positive impact in the lives of disabled individuals and creating a more inclusive society
