Reblaus-Zunft Freiburg St. Georgen e.V. is a traditional carnival association rooted in the St. Georgen district of Freiburg since 1950. Founded by 14 members of a group known as the “Montagskegler,” the Zunft takes its name from the grapevine pest that affected local vineyards around that time. The historical connection inspired its distinctive carnival identity and original costume, which drew on the clothing of vineyard workers and featured a Reblaus emblem.
Today, the association brings together active and supporting members, including younger generations, to celebrate and preserve local Fasnet traditions. It describes itself as a family-oriented community guided by solidarity, respect, openness, and the motto “joy for everyone, harm to no one.” Its activities include organizing events, taking part in street and stage celebrations, and hosting the annual St. Georgen parade, which attracts around 10,000 spectators. The Zunft also shares event photos and offers Reblaus-themed apparel through its online merchandise shop.
