Recipe for men is a brand that was founded by a group of guys who shared a love for skiing and an active lifestyle. The founders, including former member of the Swedish Olympic Freestyle team Jesper Rönnbäck, developed their friendship and business partnership through sport. The idea of men's skincare came about out of necessity, as their skin became severely dehydrated, chapped, and lacking elasticity due to the harsh climates of the mountain areas in northern Sweden.

Determined to solve this problem, they quit their jobs in 2003 to bring Recipe for men to life. The brand's vision was to incorporate Sweden's renowned design and beauty into effective skincare products that men could see and feel a difference with. After almost three years of perfecting the recipe, Recipe for men launched in 2004 with its signature red and Scandinavian design.
