Reclaim Finance

Reclaim Finance is an organisation working to put finance at the service of climate, human rights and the living world. Affiliated with Friends of the Earth, it seeks to help build a financial system that supports sustainable societies, protects ecosystems and meets fundamental needs. Its work focuses on the impact of financial institutions and the rules governing the sector, with particular attention to coal, oil and gas, liquefied natural gas, renewable electricity, steel decarbonisation and transition planning.

The organisation researches financial practices, assesses climate and sustainability strategies, and develops recommendations for financial and political decision-makers. It engages with these stakeholders to encourage stronger policies and practices, and runs campaigns that highlight both progress and harmful activities. Reclaim Finance also provides practical resources for financial professionals and other stakeholders, including open-access trackers covering coal, oil and gas, and sustainable power policies, as well as analysis of bond transactions. Its guidance addresses climate scenarios, decarbonisation targets, asset managers and companies’ climate strategies. Publications, articles, reports and webinars share its findings and recommendations.
