Record.py is a free, advertising-free French weather platform that tracks temperature records and tropical nights in near real time. Designed for people curious about local weather and climate, it presents observations station by station across France and helps users see where records have been set, approached or broken.

The site covers heat and cold records, including absolute records, monthly records, records for each half of the month, and daily comparisons. Visitors can explore an interactive map, view current and record temperatures, and check how long a previous record had stood. Filters allow users to narrow results by region, department, station characteristics, altitude and year, with options to display details such as station opening year and elevation. Record.py also offers information explaining how the different record categories are calculated. The platform says it is continuing to evolve with new features, and highlights a developing effort to follow forest fires in France in near real time.
