ReCreate is an innovative EU funded project that aims to revolutionize the construction industry by promoting circular construction practices. By focusing on deconstruction and reuse of precast concrete elements, ReCreate investigates the systemic changes required in the construction and demolition ecosystems. One of the key objectives of ReCreate is to develop novel technological solutions and processes for the deconstruction and reuse of buildings.

Through this, the project strives to create a more sustainable approach to construction by retaining the secondary material at its highest value and reducing the energy consumption and carbon footprint of single elements by an impressive 93-98%. ReCreate tackles the knowledge gaps hindering the maturity of circular construction by utilizing innovative pilots across several countries. These pilots explore different value chains, business models, legislation obstacles, and building stocks, demonstrating the technical feasibility and potential profitability of reuse.

With a localized focus on the Baltic and Balkan regions, ReCreate also emphasizes knowledge sharing and communication in Eastern EU member states. This forward-thinking project is paving the way for a greener and more sustainable future in construction
