About Rectangle
Rectangle is a Brussels-based artist-run space that was established in 2012. We are dedicated to subverting the visual language commonly found in advertising and its associated structures, both in public and private spaces. With over 30 exhibitions under our belt, we have fostered unique collaborations with renowned artists such as John M Armleder, Melanie Bonajo, Mark Dion, Pablo Helguera, Chris Martin, and Jacqueline Mesmaeker, among others.
Our group shows have featured the works of Harold Ancart, Jef Geys, Dan Graham, Bodys Isek Kingelez, Otobong Nkanga, Kelly Richardson, and Nicolas Sassoon. In our early years, we combined a billboard above our exhibition space to engage audiences in both the gallery and the wider public realm. Currently, we have transitioned to an itinerant and modular platform that allows for geographical adventures and diverse collaborations.
