About REDCAT
REDCAT is a multidisciplinary center for innovative visual, performing, and media arts, located in downtown Los Angeles. As a part of CalArts, one of the leading art institutions, REDCAT offers a wide range of products, services, and experiences that celebrate contemporary arts. From exhibitions and screenings to performances and events, REDCAT showcases new and groundbreaking work from both local artists and international talents.
The center features a 250-seat flexible black-box theater, a spacious 3,000 square-foot exhibition space, and the Olga Garay-English and Dr. Kerry English REDCAT Lounge. The iconic Frank Gehry-designed marquee, made of stainless steel and neon lights, serves as REDCAT's distinctive entrance.
In addition to presenting artistic works, REDCAT also prioritizes inclusion, diversity, equity, and access. They actively support IDEA initiatives to foster an inclusive and anti-racist community. REDCAT is committed to promoting these principles in all its policies and practices.
