Red Ciudadana is an organization that promotes democracy in Guatemala. With 12 years of experience, we investigate the obstacles that hinder citizen participation and create innovative tools to strengthen institutions, social auditing, and civic spaces, with the aim of bringing communities closer to their governments. Our projects focus on promoting innovation, fighting corruption, strengthening the work of activists, and influencing public policies.

We strive to strengthen democratic governance systems to ensure accountability, justice, and inclusion. Our services include innovation in government, social innovation, social auditing, and strengthening civic spaces. Over the years, we have impacted the lives of 6,352 people through 60 projects and 17 tools.

Our latest initiatives include the Services Públicos 2021 program, which provides training to improve governance and democracy at the municipal level, and the Observatory Fiscal 2021 project, which promotes citizen evaluation of public spending and accountability. We also collaborate with Fundación Ciudadanía Inteligente de Chile to develop Nuestra Elección, a platform that changes the way elections in Guatemala are experienced by allowing citizens to make their proposals to the candidates.
