Red Dirt Shooting Sports

Red Dirt Shooting Sports is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving young people and communities across Oklahoma and Texas. Founded to reduce financial and access barriers, the organization provides safe, structured opportunities for youth ages 8 and up to develop skills through shooting sports, archery, and outdoor education. Its programs include air rifle and air pistol instruction, beginner and competitive archery, smallbore rifle, shotgun sports, and 4-H and trap and skeet competition training.

Participants learn marksmanship, firearm safety, secure storage, hunting skills, conservation, and outdoor ethics under the guidance of credentialed coaches and range safety officers. The organization supplies loaner equipment and safety gear, and offers scholarships so cost is less likely to prevent participation. Alongside athletic training, its curriculum emphasizes discipline, focus, sportsmanship, teamwork, resilience, and leadership.

Red Dirt also provides mobile outreach, safety workshops, events, and resources for parents and young athletes. For adults, it promotes online Texas License to Carry courses through a certified partner; affiliate proceeds help fund youth teams’ equipment, ammunition, and competition fees
