About Redes da Maré
Redes da Maré is a civil society institution that focuses on producing knowledge, projects, and actions to improve the quality of life and ensure rights for the more than 140,000 residents of the 16 favelas in Maré. They operate through five structural work axes, which include Art, Culture, and Identity; Women's House of Maré; Right to Health; Right to Public Safety and Access to Justice; and Urban and Socio-environmental Rights. Their initiatives range from promoting arts and culture to advocating for access to healthcare, education, and justice.
