Red Rocks Initiative for Sustainable Development is an African non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to promoting sustainable development in the Virunga Mountains region of East Africa. Established in 2017, our organization works across Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. We firmly believe that the success of a community and its environment are interconnected.

With the collaboration of local and international partners, Red Rocks Initiative focuses on facilitating locally-driven environmental conservation and sustainable community development initiatives. Our team consists of 12 experienced staff members, including program officers, project officers, and community volunteers, who are equipped with the necessary tools and resources to generate accurate and timely reports. We maintain strong internal control and oversight processes to ensure accountability and compliance with donor guidelines.

In addition to our initiatives, we have a sister organization called Red Rocks Rwanda that operates as a social enterprise and cultural center offering camp facilities, eco-tours, and philanthropic opportunities. Our mission is to ensure the sustainable social and economic development of communities by supporting locally-led environmental conservation and sustainable tourism initiatives. We prioritize core values such as dignity, respect, professionalism, integrity, transparency, accountability, self-actualization, self-reliance, and partnership.
