Refugee Learning Center is a non-profit educational center established by responsible refugees in 2015. As refugees in Indonesia, we lack access to basic human rights like education and employment. The purpose of our center is to acknowledge our rights and provide education for helpless refugee children who are not allowed to go to school.

Starting with 35 students and 7 teachers, our center has grown significantly over the past six years. Today, we teach over 300 students and have a team of 22 teachers, 6 management members, and 2 parent representatives, all of whom are refugee volunteers from different countries like Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iran. As a non-denominational learning center, we are open to all refugees in Indonesia.

Education plays a vital role in refugees' ability to cope with prolonged displacement, especially since the resettlement process can take up to 20 years and is not guaranteed even after that time. In addition to providing education, our center also promotes socialization and a sense of normalcy for the children in our community. It also offers an opportunity for volunteers to develop and improve their personal skills through workshops and training.

Our main goals at Refugee Learning Center are to provide education for refugees, facilitate communication and cooperation between diverse groups, provide meaningful engagement for the refugee community, and develop the capacities of refugee volunteers. Operating on a voluntary basis, we rely on donations to cover operational costs. We are incredibly grateful to our friends and supporters worldwide who help us provide hope and assistance to those living in limbo.
